Revival

I should have told you sooner but I forgot.

Sunday Night Daniel Flatford called and excitedly told about the services Calvary Baptist had Sunday. He said they have been praying for Revival for some time, and the Lord gave them peace about having a Revival meeting very soon. He asked if I'd be willing to Preached the meeting. I told him I'd love to, anytime the church was ready I'd be ready.
He called me back a few minutes later with a date.

October 23-27, 2006 @ 7:00 p.m.

This will be my first Revival meeting, but I firmly believe that God will bless the messages and the people by His grace.
Please help me and the Church pray about the Revival. I know they desire that it not be a series of meetings, but rather, a Revival of the heart, Home, House of God, and a time of souls being saved. God is Faithful and I expect Great things.

Calvary Baptist Church

Last night I had the opportunity to preach at Calvary Baptist in Claxton, TN. I preached a message entitled "We would see Jesus". The thought came to mind as I was getting ready for church.
Daniel (The interim Pastor) called me and asked me to come preach for him as he was very sick. This one of those "Instant in season, out of season times", I had about 1 hour and 15 minutes to prepare. I could have preached one of many messages, but God gave me this one at about 5:25 p.m.. I was uneasy while I was studying, but God showed me a few things and He really blessed the message. I'm honored that God would use me to preach the gospel, when there are so many others that He could use. I'm thankful for that as well.

Lord, Give me a drink

Let me start by saying that God is Really Real.

I was in a meeting at Harvest Baptist Church in Dalton/Dahlonega, Georgia at the beginning of this month. To be honest I went just to see some folks. I was tired, weary both in body and soul, I had a headache for about three weeks at the time with no relief, but God turned that around.

Friday night I preached, God blessed in spite of me. Bro. Mark Stroud then preached about Hell. Three young ladies got saved that night. We all shouted, wept, and sang, God Blessed in spite of me.

Saturday we had two great messages by Bro. Woody Woodard and Bro. Chad Rogers, we had a few classes for the young people and we played some outside games to get everyone loosened up, God blessed in spite of me.

Saturday night is when it all turned around.
It all started at the "Rock" alter behind the church. God still honors prayer, we all gathered around the all except for Pastor Mark Biddy, he could be still, he was about 10 yards away facing a cornfield praying with everything he had begging God to come down once again. He Did!

We got into the church and everything just fell into place. Two ladies sang a song called "Lord, Give me a drink". In a word it was UNBELIEVABLE what God did through that song alone. There were young people filling the alter, getting a drink of the water of life. Adults taking off their -shoe- ( a symbol of surrender to God) and laying it on the alter.

This is where it got personal for ME.

I've heard for years how people had been saved for years but then after much prayer and tears, God Filled them with the Holy Ghost. Now, I'm not talking about speaking in tongues, rolling around on the floor, handling snakes or any of that garbage. I'm talking about getting filled with the Spirit of God, and having His touch on your life in everything you do.

After all weekend of seeing God do something for everyone else, and blessing them, I was tired of sitting idly by. I fell to my knees and sought God, that He would give ME a drink. I had no idea what He would GIVE me.

the Lord touched me in a way that I've never been touched before. I renewed by Body and Soul, he gave me a drink of that water that I had gotten complacent with and its Still Real. I shouted that night like I've not shouted in years. God reminded me of where I was, Where I am, and Where I'm going. That was September 2, 2006 and today is September 27, 2006 and the Lord is still blessing from that meeting.

Sunday was very much the same.--Sat. Night Bro. Mark Biddy went to sleep shouting under his breath to keep from waking everyone. My wife and I were in another room , and I was weeping thanking God for His goodness and mercy, and grace. Sunday were woke up still filled with the Spirit, over the breakfast table as we were saying Grace, God moved in on the biscuits and eggs, and we had a time of fellowship with God OVER BREAKFAST. We got church and more of the same, but entirely different. We shouted, sang, shouted, wept, shouted, sang, shouted, wept, shouted, sang, shouted, shouted, shouted... (You get the idea?). Lord, Give me a drink was sang again and again (8 times probably). My my my, it was wonderful.
Sunday night I was scheduled to preach, it got on and I was sitting there like a deer in the headlights. Bro. Mark asked me what I wanted to do, he called me up and I just told what God did for me that weekend. God Blessed in Spite of me. Bro. Mark asked Lori, Ashlyn, and I to come to the alter. He then asked that the WHOLE church come and pray with us concerning the ministry and Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. God again Blessed in Spite of me. He then told me to preach. I preached a message entitled "Three little Words" and you guessed it, God Blessed in Spite of me!
Monday we went to Bro. Marks parents house for a cookout, all we could talk about was the weekend. God again Blessed in Spite of me at their home. I could barely talk and he asked us to sing... Hold on while I have a fit.

Okay I'm back. He asked us to sing, It's amazing what a prayer can do. We got through that one okay, but then we decided to try to sing Give him the Glory. The whole room was filled with tears, God Blessed in Spite of ME.

We finally made it home and God is still Good. I can hardly wait to see what God has in store for Me and my family.
Until next time.
